It depends on how it looks in the KDP publishing preview, of course, but I’ve been working on a new cover for Scales of Justice, my one and only full-length published novel. I like the one I have, but thought maybe, just maybe, it could use some “oomph,” so I worked up a new one.
So sound off, one and all, and tell me what you think of the NEW cover for Scales of Justice:
Now, I’m not wild about the author name line right now. I don’t mind if people can’t read the “A Novel By” line, but I definitely need the name to stand out. And I’d like to use either contrasting colors or something from the background, but I just couldn’t seem to hit on anything good. I finally settled on a bright cyan, but I’d like something better, so that might change.
The other covers, which didn’t make the cut, were all more yellow-orange and didn’t play well on screen when uploaded to Amazon’s KDP. I feel fairly confident this one will work well. And I love the imagery, and the scales. Of course, friend and fellow author (and thereby cover designer) Bryce Beattie made me a cover for this one too, and I might just use his instead.
Well, which one do you guys like better? Which do you think will read cleaner and be more eye-catching on the screen?
Sound off! I want to hear from you.

Maybe a poll would help on this one?
Your opinion worked for me! 🙂
I really liked the other one I worked up – If only I could have mixed in “Western” better…
The other one you worked up? I don’t remember that one. I’ll dig around for it. I thought what I ended up with turned out terrific and professional though, don’t you? I’d love to have time to do more of them. Maybe I’ll work something up for JoSL for ya. HA!
