A dark day for the literary community — the great author, television producer, movie producer, director, and general creative icon Michael Crichton has died at the age of 66. He will be sorely missed. Sorely missed.

Godspeed, Dr. Crichton. Thank you for all the wonderful stories, inspiration, television programs and wise words you’ve left for all of us who inspired to a fraction of your talent and genius. Thank you for not only telling us, but showing us, that there is no such thing as great writing — only great re-writing.
